Word Choice Lab aims to make every explanation accurate and easy to use. If we publish an error, we want to correct it clearly and promptly.
What to report
Useful correction reports identify the page, the statement or example in question, why it may be inaccurate, and any authoritative source that supports the correction. We also welcome reports of broken links, unclear explanations, inconsistent examples, and incorrect quiz answers.
How we review corrections
- We review the exact claim or example that was reported.
- We compare it with reliable dictionaries, usage references, or educational sources.
- We distinguish factual errors from regional variation, style preferences, and contested usage.
- We update the page when a correction or clarification is warranted.
How changes are handled
Minor spelling, punctuation, formatting, and clarity edits may be made without a correction note. When a change materially alters the guidance or reverses a previous answer, we may add an update note explaining what changed.
Response time
We prioritize reports that could cause readers to use a word incorrectly. Review time depends on the complexity of the question and the availability of authoritative evidence.
